Glazed Donuts, Coffee and more
At my moms meeting last week, someone brought a box of Krispy Kreme Donuts for the group. I haven't had a donut since last summer. I cut one of the glazed donuts in half and left the other one in the box. It was love after first bite. It was soft and sweet! Glazed donuts never tasted so good. After about 3 cups of decaf w/ 1/3c of flavored cream in each, something clicked in my brain in the midst of relishing this sugar high. For the first time I could see how one person could sit and eat up a whole box of donuts. The half a donut I had tasted soooo good, I felt like I could go back and eat the whole box. It would have been so easy to eat the whole box! Then the analytical side of me realized all that the body is craving is the smooth texture of the donut, and the sweetness of the glaze, not to mention the comfort of the soft texture. After the belly is full, the pleasure is all gone. Beyond that to eat more would make one sick. So after this little analysis, I downed a couple more cups of coffee, getting my coffee fix but, now looking back in hindsight, I realize that I was really thirsty after all that sugar and my body was craving water not a sugar ladened beverage. After the meeting was over and clean up was in process, the sweet tooth reared its ugly head-again, and I got the other half to my glazed donut and savored every last piece. I think I'm good til next summer.
